OK. So one of the many things I promised myself I would take a look at is whether or not I really need to add a patterned pencil skirt to my wardrobe in order to remain current this year, and the bad news as far as my bank balance is concerned is that it's looking a lot as if I probably should succumb.
- I've looked and can assure anyone who's interested that there's at least one pencil skirt out there with my name on it this year. Better yet, it might just be one of the ones included in the House of Fraser summer sale. (House of Fraser delivers directly to Singapore. I hadn't realised that until today. Yay!)
- When I say there's at least one pencil skirt out there with my name on it, what I mean is there's at least one that would match perfectly well with enough of my existing tops, I be able to generate a whole bundle of new outfits without needing to invest in a lot of other stuff, (apart from shoes, according to the illustration below).
- Whilst I don't currently own anything resembling the sandals shown above, for once in my life I can honestly say that I do have shoes that could go with this skirt in my closet. I also really do have all four of the plain cotton tee shirts shown in the illustration. Uniqlo has these flash sales every-so-often, during which tee shirts are available for S$9.90, and I just love that they offer so many different colours, I find them impossible to resist. Even if they didn't wash as well as they do, they'd still be a bargain, in my opinion, even if it does mean that I end up wearing more or less exactly the same thing day after day. That's what happens when you live in a country where it's somewhere between 28 and 32 degrees and rains somewhere on the island at some point each and every day of the year. No seasons means we don't get to mix and match outer wear or coloured tights or heavier shoes or anything like that. I would be able to get some wear out of this skirt even so though, don't you think?
