Here's something I find interesting, a contest on Polyvore that requires us to 'turn the clock back a bit'. The idea is that Polyvore members over the age of 50 enter sets featuring styles they might wear if only they were a tiny bit younger.
Whenever I see this kind of thing, I feel torn. On the one hand, I am aware of there being clothes out there that I choose to wear if only I were a few years younger. On the other, the real reason I'd be unlikely wear the outfit shown on the right below is because I'm old enough to imagine I can afford something that's more expensive and therefore (in my experience) more likely to be flattering to the female form. Take a good look at how the print falls on the dress on the left in such as way that it emphasises the curve of the waist. I don't mean to suggest my 21-year-old daughter wouldn't look totally fabulous in it, just that she doesn't need to resort to that kind of device in order to emphasise how slender a waist she has. More importantly, I think, I doubt she would feel comfortable attracting as much attention to her figure as the outfit on the right would be likely to attract. I can picture her in the outfit on the left though, which is but a different interpretation of the same Spring trend - i.e. bold floral dresses.
