Here's another of those oddball Polyvore contests. This one's called 'Dye Your Hair Pink!'
Having celebrated my 50th birthday last year, I find myself feeling more confident about my appearance than was ever the case when I was younger. There are 10 popular rules I've chosen to completely ignore, however.
Two items I purchased towards the end of last year came out of the Desigual concession in the Parkway Parade branch of Isetan. They were having a sale, of course, or I would not have been attracted to look at a label I tend to dismis as 'a tad pretentious'. As a general rule, I don't like to buy clothes where the brand's logo has been incorportated into the design, and Desigual is huge on doing that, unfortunately, hence I hadn't ever shopped there before now. Sadly, I'm not so sure I'll be shopping there again anytime soon, no matter how much they slash their prices by.
Gorgeous Daughter assures me that the only way to build up any kind of a blog following is to keep on posting, little and often, little and often. Yesterday, I failed to post anything at all, mostly because Gorgeous Husband and I were out endeavouring to figure out the photography issue - i.e. where/how to capture pictures of the real me that won't cause anyone to run away screaming, a tricky issue if you find yourself to be unphotogenic in the extreme.
Here's a really gentle introduction to the real me then. It's amazing what you can stumble across whilst looking for something completely different on Google. Two days ago, I was looking for purple jackets and found India Art Palace of Ca. Inc. Here are six garments I might be seriously tempted to buy, assuming the price was right. Unfortunately, the company only deals with retailers and not end-users though.
I can remember several years ago one of my bestest girl buddies showing me an ap her very first iPhone that was supposed to help users to plan what to wear every day. The friend in question, Lynda, was one of the best dressed women I knew even then, and, for all that she was vastly enthusiastic about the idea of a digitalised closet, I know for a fact that she didn't get anything like as much use out of whatever that very early ap was as she had originally hoped to.
Several years ago now, my then 16-year-old daughter was strongly advised by her school to pack a hat to wear during a massively exotic school trip to Ladakh, India. Amongst other things, the students would be treking amidst the Himalayas, where all-year-round snow would be likely to reflect the sunlight and cause delicate teenage skins to burn.
Here's something I find interesting, a contest on Polyvore that requires us to 'turn the clock back a bit'. The idea is that Polyvore members over the age of 50 enter sets featuring styles they might wear if only they were a tiny bit younger.

Hi there. My name is Liz and at age 50 and after 20 years of shuffling to and fro between Singapore and the UK, I've learned a thing or two about what to wear and how to have fun wearing it.
